HOW WE STARTED |
 |
Players Sport was created by grassroots players working to deliver benefits to grassroots clubs throughout. It is the first company in the UK to offer professional support services specifically tailored for the grassroots sporting community.
In some shape or form, we have all been involved with the essential functions of successfully running our own clubs. Our own experience of organizing teams, recruiting and registering players, arranging tours, collecting subscriptions as well as general fundraising, made us realise there had to be an easier and more effective way to undertake these tasks.
Initially we searched for companies which could offer the support services to help us continue the successful administration and organisation of our clubs. We couldn't find what we needed in terms of an acceptable level of service quality at a price that was affordable. Therefore, in 2003, we created Players Sport to provide cost-effective solutions that will actively assist the work undertaken by captains, administrators and volunteers at grassroots clubs.

COMMITMENT TO GRASSROOTS SPORT |
|
We are focused on delivering the best deals for all clubs that register with Players Sport. It is our policy, wherever possible, not to charge for our services. In those instances where we do have to charge, it is a small fee to cover the costs that we incur in order to provide the service.
We can do this because we have financed the company ourselves. We have no outside investors demanding a financial return so we can concentrate on delivering the best deals for your club in terms of service as well as price.
However, no matter how important, not everything is about price and service quality. Our business is focused on providing ethical and professional support for your club which represents excellent value for money. Players Sport is here to protect and further the interests of your club and some of the more important ways we do this are:
1. Data Protection. We do not sell or pass on any details of your club or its members to any third parties.
2. Financial Security. Funds held on behalf of your club are deposited into an independently controlled 'Trust' account until being electronically transferred directly into the nominated club bank account.
3. Competitive Pricing. Players Sport does not charge service set-up fees or monthly minimum spend commitments. We operate a transparent pricing policy which means you know beforehand how much you will have to pay for those services where we do have to charge a small administration fee.
We work for the benefit of all grassroots clubs regardless of code, age, gender and physical ability. If your organisation is a club, school, governing association, charity or sporting trust, then, as long as it's involved in community sport, we are here to serve you.

The support services we offer your club are designed to remove many of the administrative hassles encountered by the majority of grassroots clubs. Our mission is to deliver the following key benefits to each of our member clubs:
• An improvement in club finances
• A reduction in the workload of club administration
• Make club communications simpler and more effective
The common denominator in everything we do is that we can save the volunteers that run our grassroots clubs both time and effort. The more time that can be saved from the mundane but essential chores of club administration, will mean the greater the amount of resource that can be focused on the other key areas of club development such as recruitment, coaching and, perhaps most importantly, the social side.

We are committed to each and every one of our clubs. We work in partnership with them to provide and operate a range of administrative support services on their behalf. Players Sport presents clubs with the opportunity to benefit from additional revenues, reduced costs and the creation of more time to be spent on developing their game.
But we can't stand still. We are here to serve your club and we require your feedback in order to improve our services, develop new solutions and learn more about your personal issues concerning the development of grassroots clubs. We are also looking for members to join the Players Sport Workgroup. The workgroup's function is to act as a review panel of our products and services. Based upon the workgroup's findings we can improve our existing services and develop new products which really make a positive difference to the operations of grassroots clubs. In addition, why not spend a few minutes of your time to complete the Independent Sports Review's Sports Club Survey. The review addresses sports policy in the UK and covers every aspect of sport from the amateur grassroots club to the elite levels of professional sport. The review will make a comprehensive, balanced assessment of sport and make far-reaching recommendations for the future of sport.
